Greetings!
As a therapist, I believe it is important to walk in your purpose and I believe I do that every day. My name is Laijun English, and I am a counselor that provides treatment for teens and adults dealing with life’s challenges. I have Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Georgia Southwestern State University and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fort Valley State University.
I have worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds across inpatient settings, emergency services, nonprofit organizations, and military environments. These experiences have shaped my approach to counseling to meet clients with compassion, respect, and understanding. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered especially during times of stress or transition.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. I work with a variety of different client presentations such as trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, adjustment, anger, low self-esteem, shame, OCD, and health/caregiver concerns. My theoretical approach utilizes the underpinnings of Cognitive Behavioral Theory, while incorporating perspectives and interventions from Narrative, Strength- Based, and Existential Theories.
I specialize in sex therapy and relationship counseling for LGBTQ+, gender-expansive, kink-involved, and consensually non-monogamous adults. You may feel capable and self-aware in most areas of life yet unsettled in your closest relationships. Together, we will connect the dots between present triggers and earlier relational experiences so recurring patterns can be understood and shifted with intention.
