I am a clinical psychologist with 16 years of experience helping people navigate challenging life transitions, loss, trauma, advanced age and terminal illness. Recently, I have begun to weave Psychedelic Preparation and Integration work into my offerings, in appreciation of the ways expanded states of consciousness can unlock new avenues of emotional healing.
Phyllis Taliaferro LCSW-R is a seasoned psychotherapist. She graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Social Welfare. She acquired her Master’s Degree there. She has taught at the State University of New York at Farmingdale in the Community Service Assistant Department and at Old Westbury College in the Sociology Department.

I have a Ph.D. in Education. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and holistic practitioner with over 20 years of experience. I am a compassionate therapist dedicated to helping you. It can be difficult to talk about things like trauma and PTSD, grief, anxiety and depression. People need to be able to discuss their concerns without feeling judged or misunderstood. My ideal clients are those who are focused on learning about their concerns and working towards healing.
My psychiatric experience includes adolescents at NewYork-Presbyterian's Westchester Behavioral Health Center and adults, adolescents, and children at Four Winds Hospital in Katonah. I have an MSN from Hunter College, a BSN from Pace University, and a BA in psychology from Harvard University.
I have been in practice for over 20 years and have experience working with many of life's challenges. I combine practical strategies with deeper self exploration for insight and personal growth. My approach is based on exploration of oneself and our thoughts and motives with an interest in Jungian psychology, Buddhism, spirituality and Mindfulness. I have also coached those in the corporate and academic worlds to plan goals and find direction. I'm also an artist and like to explore the creative process.
