I received my Masters from Antioch University of New England, Bachelors from SUNY Empire State University, and Associates from Cortland Community College. I own a private practice and offer both in person and telehealth sessions in Oswego NY. I teach at SUNY Empire State as well. I have experience working with both behavioral and cognitive mental health and specialize in grief and loss, anxiety, and life changes. I am a mom to 5, have two dogs, and love designing and renovating.
I have been working in the field of social work/ counseling for three decades. I am approachable, non-judgmental and believe that everyone has something special about them. At times life's challenges cloud our ability to believe this and darken our outlook on life and ourselves. I enjoy helping my clients see their worth and live a happier life. I also grew up with a sister with significant developmental delays and autism. My childhood definitely cultivated my desire to work in this field, while also giving me first hand experience about the challenges of being a sibling to a brother or sister with special needs. I have worked with many children and teens who may be struggling with a similar family dynamic.
Our sessions will begin at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I specialize in an integrative, holistic approach to depression, anxiety, trauma, and coping with life challenges. My therapeutic approach blends humanistic, mindfulness, somatic work, deep spiritual inquiry, CBT, and psychodynamic therapy, tailored to each client’s unique experiences.
I am a womanist art therapist who supports clients in exploring their stories through creative expression. I work from a strength based, culturally responisve lens, holding space for individuals adn communities to be seen, heard, and affirmed. Through the creative process, I help clients navigate life transitions, trauma, anxiety, and identity development while fostering resilience and collective care.
I have over 20 years of experience as an Expressive Arts Therapist working with adults, families and adolescents focusing on trauma, anxiety, loss and life transitions. As a former educator I help you understand the Why, as an artist I use creativity and mindfulness at your level of comfort to offer tools for you to heal.
