Something brought you here today. With 25 years working alongside people in community mental health settings, I have learned that deciding to start therapy takes
real courage. My work begins where you are, not where someone thinks you should be. Whether you are carrying anxiety, grief, relationship strain, the weight of life transitions, or simply wondering if things could feel different, I want to hear your whole story before we figure out the path forward. Everyone has their own, and we will find yours together.
During my undergraduate years, I studied political theory at Reed College. In 2021, I completed my master’s degree in Social Work at Bryn Mawr College. Since then, I have offered individual therapy in community mental health, university, and private practice settings.
Please note I am currently not offering additional couples sessions.
Welcome. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with nine years of experience supporting individuals through life’s most complex transitions. I earned my Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Edinboro University, building on a foundation rooted in Criminal Justice from my undergraduate studies.
My work with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Department of Corrections has shaped a deep understanding of the intersection between personal growth and systemic challenges. I specialize in women’s issues and relationship dynamics, creating a safe, empowering space where clients can reconnect with their strengths, rebuild connections, and move forward with clarity and confidence.
I was an educator for almost 14 years when I began my training in clinical mental health. I initially worked with teens and families in intensive in-home therapy. I transitioned to outpatient where I worked with women and men who had histories of abuse. My training and experience have been predominantly in trauma and grief. I have worked with individuals who suffer from mood disorders as well as personality disorders, particularly those with complex traumas and abuse in their histories.
I am a triple board-certified psychiatrist specializing in Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Perinatal Psychiatry, as well as Obesity Medicine. I am a medical doctor who trained at Albert Einstein Medical Center (General Psychiatry residency) and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship), where I served as chief resident and chief fellow. My practice, Dona Wellness Clinic, primarily utilizes telepsychiatry to offer accessible, compassionate, and inclusive care to individuals across Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., and North Carolina. Approach to Providing Care.
I offer individual psychotherapy for all adults, but specialize in working with those navigating the intersection of neurocomplexities such as ADHD, Autism, OCD, and complex trauma. Many of my clients have experienced years of feeling misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or “too much,” often without a clear understanding of how their brain and nervous system work. My approach is both trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming, helping clients build self-understanding, regulate their nervous systems, and move toward a greater sense of stability, clarity, and self-trust.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is queer and autistic/ADHD. I love the arts and spirituality, and enjoy working with kids and young adults the most. The populations I specialize working with include individuals identifying as non-manogomous, neurodivergent, trans/queer, and most other alt/weird/unique/geeky/nerdy folx. Mindfulness is an important aspect of therapy for my practice, as is creating a therapeutic environment that feels safe for marginalized groups.
Getting help should feel like something you can actually do. For a lot of families, insurance is the part that makes it feel impossible. I went into private practice specifically so I could take that off the table. I work primarily with children, adolescents, and families. The families I see are usually navigating something that is just hard: a kid who is struggling in school, a teenager who is shutting down, parents who are not sure how to reach them. Sometimes it is a big transition. Sometimes it is the slow buildup of stress that nobody quite had words for yet. I have been doing this for 17 years. Most of that time was spent in clinic settings, where I saw a lot of people and had to move fast. I learned a great deal in those environments. I also learned that real therapeutic progress requires time, consistency, and a relationship where the client actually feels known. That is what I am building in private practice. My approach is direct and warm. I am not interested in jargon. I want to understand what is actually going on and work with you on what will actually help. Sessions are fully telehealth, which means no commute, more scheduling flexibility, and care that fits into your actual life. I look forward to seeing if we are a good fit.
As an independently licensed clinical social worker, I believe in meeting people where they are. I am glad you made it here. I've been practicing for several years, having made the shift from community based work to telehealth a few years ago. I specialize in working with adults experiencing symptoms of Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, and ADHD.
