I provide a warm, friendly, and judgment-free space where you can show up as your authentic self. Many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, or emotional overwhelm that makes it hard to feel like themselves. My goal is to create an environment that feels supportive, approachable, and safe enough for you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences honestly. I want therapy to be a place where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to work through what is weighing on you.
I give you a space to explore, feel, question, cry, scream, cuss, fall apart, and fall together. I like wrestling with whatever it is that is coming up in your heart or mind. I am open minded and care about the burdens you carry around everyday. It's hard work to grow yourself and we can work together to create and achieve your goals. I believe your story matters and holds a lot of power in shaping your life.
I believe healing happens when people feel seen, heard, and accepted without judgment. I strive to create a warm, supportive space where you can show up exactly as you are, whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready for change. I am especially passionate about helping adults heal from childhood and family experiences that continue to impact their relationships, boundaries, self-worth, and emotional well-being. My goal is to help you feel supported while building the tools and confidence needed to create a life that feels more aligned with who you are.
I have had extensive experience with trauma in individuals from adolescence to late adulthood. I believe that trauma looks and feels different to every person. Two people experiencing the same event will have different outlooks, and understandings of it. A traumatic event can take many forms. I want to help you pick up on where your thoughts, feelings and behaviors come from, even if you've never experienced “trauma".
I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion, understanding, and evidence-based care. My experience includes providing outpatient psychiatric care across the lifespan as well as caring for older adults in assisted living and memory care settings, giving me a broad perspective on mental health across different stages of life. I specialize in treating anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, depression, bipolar disorder, and other mood-related conditions. I work with adolescents ages 13 and older, adults, and older adults who may be struggling with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, difficulties with focus, mood changes, or the effects of past trauma.
You're the one everyone relies on-the one who holds it all together, shows up, and keeps going even when you're exhausted. On the outside, things may look fine. On the inside, you might feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns you can't seem to break. If that sounds familiar, you're not alone, and you don't have to keep doing it this way. I have extensive experience in supporting individuals, couples, and families in their most vulnerable moments. I bring a calm, grounded presence to situations of anxiety, trauma, and emotional distress.
My practice, Luna Encadenada Psychotherapy, reflects my ancestral roots and the values that guide my work. "Luna," my paternal grandmother's maiden name, evokes healing, cycles, and intuition. "Encadenada," derived from my maternal grandfather's surname, symbolizes strength through connection to self, family, and something greater.

I'm glad you are interested in my profile. Let me introduce myself. I'm a Licensed Counselor, Christian, and US Army Veteran with years of experience working in community mental health, addiction recovery, and PTSD treatment — both with service members and Veterans through the VA, and with civilians carrying similar weight.
I work primarily with adults — especially men, women, couples, and Veterans navigating PTSD, addiction, marriage challenges, life transitions, and the kind of stress that builds up over years of trying to handle everything alone.
I'm also a Christian counselor, and my faith guides every aspect of my life. The majority of my clients over the years are not Christian, and I have worked well with them, and their needs. I am sensitive to the needs of my clients.
My job is to meet you where you are. You'll find me direct, but warm, solution-focused, humorous. I speak plainly, and not in clinical jargon, if I can help it. .
