It’s my pleasure to meet you!
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Hypnotherapist and Coach. Seeking mental health is vital to becoming the best version of ourselves and self-care.
And today, you did it! There can never be anything wrong with how you have been feeling. It is your experience. I’ve been practicing for the past 20 years and I work with individuals, children, couples and groups. My focus is anxiety, depression, family management, couples and adjustment issues such as divorce, cancer survivors, grief/loss, and career changes.
I’m glad you’re here—I care deeply about helping people improve their emotional and mental well-being by working through past and present challenges. My own journey has shown me the value of therapy in navigating life’s difficulties. I specialize in women’s issues, mental performance, anxiety and depression, adult children of alcoholics, and life transitions. As a devoted Christian, I offer Christian counseling upon request.
I’m a Houston-based therapist with over ten years of clinical experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults through a wide range of emotional, relational, and behavioral concerns. I believe therapy is most effective when you feel understood, respected, and able to be yourself.
My clinical experience includes intensive outpatient DBT programs, medication-assisted treatment, university counseling, and outpatient and residential treatment for adolescents. I have specialized training in comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), including advanced training in DBT Prolonged Exposure and traumatic invalidation. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, psychodynamically informed approaches, eating disorder treatment, and family therapy into my work.
I have particular clinical interests in trauma, relationship concerns, grief and loss, family-of-origin difficulties, personality disorders, mood disorders, and substance use. I work with clients who may be navigating significant life transitions, difficult relationships, longstanding emotional patterns, or symptoms that have begun to interfere with their daily lives.
I have worked with a wide variety of populations and settings from non-profit agencies like group homes in foster care and Women's Advocacy shelters to outpatient settings, within a hospital. I have worked over the years with clients who are or who have experienced trauma, abuse, domestic violence, family violence, Many of my clients are successful working through the stress of new life adjustments to graduation, college, post partum and relationships.
Do you ever feel stuck in your relationships or find yourself repeating patterns that leave you feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward? You may understand what you want to change but still find yourself responding in familiar ways. I believe these patterns often make sense when we take time to understand where they come from.
My work is grounded in attachment and relational approaches. I enjoy helping clients explore how past experiences, relationships, and beliefs about themselves influence the way they connect with others. Together, we can work toward greater self-understanding, stronger boundaries, healthier communication, and more meaningful relationships.
I bring Master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Special Education, along with over 10 years of experience in trauma and addiction counseling. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship and family challenges, identity, and life transitions. My style is warm, collaborative, and compassionate, and I draw from attachment-based, psychodynamic, strengths-based, mindfulness, somatic, and cognitive-behavioral approaches.
As a biracial therapist with African American and Norwegian heritage, I value the ways culture, identity, and lived experiences shape our relationships and sense of self. I strive to create a space where you can feel seen, understood, and accepted as you are. I also offer therapy in both English and Norwegian.

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself, therapy can be a space to slow down and begin reconnecting with what matters most. I support adults who are navigating life’s challenges and want to better understand themselves, their emotions, and the patterns shaping their lives.
My role is to be a steady, supportive presence as you explore your inner world and move toward healing and growth. I strive to create a positive, judgment-free space where you feel safe showing up as you are and beginning the healing process at your own pace.
Life can feel overwhelming when you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, addiction, or a major life transition. You may find yourself stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, weighed down by self-doubt, shame, guilt, anger, loneliness, or stress that feels difficult to manage on your own.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I help clients navigate these challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and confidence. Whether you're coping with work stress, family conflict, relationship difficulties, or significant life changes, therapy can provide a space to better understand what you're experiencing and develop practical tools for moving forward or making change.
